Flash! There’s the Grid

I like the grid. Our electrical distribution systems permeate our everyday lives and most of us don’t consider the complexity or scale behind those monthly bills.

Last September we had an all-company meetup in Utah, an annual event that brings all of us from this distributed company together, and we were each required to give a flash talk – a four minute talk about anything in front of the rest of the company. It’s a long-established get-to-know-you tradition at Automattic.

The videos were recently published, so I present to you my talk on the grid. It’s hard not to miss the industry and it’s impossible not to miss the wonderful people at the Johnson County REMC who made my job a joy for eight years.
